此前關(guān)于四巨頭聯(lián)合巡演的傳聞數(shù)周前便已炒得沸沸揚揚，如今這一消息終于塵埃落定。四支樂隊近日正式宣布，他們將于明年集體亮相歐洲的Sonisphere系列音樂節(jié)。Sonisphere音樂節(jié)的首站將于明年6月16日在波蘭首都華沙來開序幕，目前已經(jīng)確定的十五天的演出日程中包括有保加利亞的索菲亞站，羅馬尼亞的布加勒斯特站，土耳其的伊斯坦布爾站以及英國的肯伯沃斯站，而更多演出日程將會在幾周之內(nèi)陸續(xù)對外公布。
不過四巨頭目前并沒有公布任何美國巡演的場次。作為2009年“Mayhem”巡演的領(lǐng)軍樂隊，Slayer將在明年一月份聯(lián)手麥格戴斯在全美進行一場為期26天的巡演，演出的首站定在美國西雅圖市。Metallica在2009年的巡演可謂是滿缽而歸，樂隊在公告牌網(wǎng)站所統(tǒng)計的巡演票房榜總收入排在了第11位。在全年的66場演出中，Metallica總計吸引了112萬人次到場觀看，門票收入則高達7千6百萬美元(約合人民幣5億3千萬)。
Metallica樂隊近日就參加Sonisphere音樂節(jié)的演出發(fā)表了一份正式聲明，樂隊鼓手拉爾斯-烏爾里希(Lars Ulrich)表示：“有誰會想到，25年之后四巨頭會聯(lián)手巡演。在過去的這25年里，我們不僅僅沒有沉寂，反而更加的受歡迎。不過四支樂隊一起巡演，這還是真是第一次。每當我想起這次演出時，就不由自主的熱血沸騰?！盨layer樂隊吉他手凱瑞-金(Kerry King)補充說道：“這次巡演最終確定了，樂迷們的愿望也終于得以實現(xiàn)，這簡直不可思議！”
麥格戴斯樂隊領(lǐng)袖戴夫-馬斯特恩(Dave Mustaine)則表示，這樣的一次巡演對于金屬樂迷來說可謂是“一生難得”，四支載入美國金屬樂史冊的樂隊同臺演此前從未有過。馬斯特恩說：“如果在演出結(jié)束之后，哪位樂迷的脖子還沒有斷掉，那么他根本不屬于這里。”
